We hosted our first Venue Premiere at the Ocean Hill Estate on Thursday January 19, 2012. The premiere was a sucess! More than 150 of Santa Barbara's best event professionals were present and our community is buzzing with the news of our fabulous new Santa Barbara wedding and event venue.

The Ocean Hill Estate can Accomodate Large and Small Wedding Ceremonies Either on the Lawn or on the Terrace. One option, as we Demostrated During the Premiere, is to use the Flagstone Pathway as a Natural Aisle and Either Have Guests Face The Ocean or the Home. The Bridal Party May Enter From Two Separate Side Pathways and the Bride may Make an Entrance Down the Center Stairway.

Tricia Fountaine Got Her Inspirations for the Premiere Design from the Estate's Lush Landscaping. She Incorporated Grass & Succulents Along with Vintage Trunks, Rustic Urns and a Wooden Wagon to Create the Ceremony Alter.

A Trunk Filled with Moss and Plants Instead of Flowers Marked the Beginning of the Aisle.
Tricia Fountaine's Dark Wood Benches Provided Seating for our Mock Ceremony.

Tricia Fountaine Designed a Bouquet Using Brown Succulents Surrounded by Calla Lilies and Brown Foliage.

A Vintage Wicker Covered Wine Bottle Filled With Papyrus Adorned the Cocktail Tables.
The Boutonniere was Designed with A Fern Curl, Raspberries and Flowering Eucalyptus.

A Lounge was Set-Up on the Lawn to the Left of the Path. The Lounge Items Including Two Chaises, A Rustic Bench, Train Cart Coffee Table and Lots of Soft Pillows and Blankets are Available From Tricia Fountaine.
Bella Vista Designs Hung Three Crystal Chandeliers from the Oak and
Classic Party Rentals Provided Torchfire Patio Heaters.

Another Gorgeous Photograph Taken By Mellisa Musgrove. She Captured the Event Beautifully.
The Tennis Court Shown to the Far Right is Available for Larger Events and can Accomodate 250+ Guests.
It Must be Fully Covered with Astro-Turf or Carpeting and Tenting is Permitted.
Classic Party Rentals Owns a Custom 60' x 120' Canopy Available if Necessary Which Fits the Court Perfectly.

Rincon Event's Menu Included Fresh Fruit & Cheeses, Handmade Dips, Tex-Mex Spring Rolls, Tri-Tip Bites,
Marinated Seafood and Avocado, Flatbread Pizza and Assorted Miniature Desserts.

The Ocean Hill Estate is Mediterranean and the Garden Includes Mature Succulents, Unusual Grasses and Plants in Shades of Green Caramel and Coffee. Tricia Fountaine Took Her Cue From the Landscape and Echoed it Onto the Tables. Jessica and I Gave her Free Reign to Play... and Boy Did she do a Beautiful Job!

Three Mock Tables were Set-Up on The Lawn, Adjacent to the Tennis Court. Included were Round and Descanso Wood Tables and Benches from Classic Party Rentals, Tuscan Cafe Chairs with Brown Cushions and their Specialty Linen in Texture Dream, Micro Gold Organza and Crocodile Brown.

The Unique Place Settings Included Classic Party Rental's Antique Gold Leaf Chargers,
Amber Luster Glassware and Milan Flatware.

The Ocean Hill Estate's Master Bedroom is Available for the Bride to Dress. Access to the Room is Allowed Two Hours Prior to the Ceremony Start Time. The Room Provides Stunning Lighting for Photographs and it's Double Doors Open to the Terrace. The Home Itself is Not Available for Event Use or Overnight Accommodations.

As the Sun Began to Set, The Landscaping Came Alive with Lighting Provided by Bella Vista Designs and Included Uplighting Illuminating Trees, Pathways and Foliage, Crystal Chandeliers Strung From Branches, Glowing Savonia Candle Lanterns Lining the Stairs and Pathway, and Leaf Projection Gobo Lights for the Driveway. The Evening was Magical.

We Concluded the Premiere with a Breathtaking Santa Barbara Sunset.

· Venue use for up to six hours (Not including setup and strike)
· A dressing area for bride, two hours prior to ceremony start time. Bridesmaids and groomsmen must arrive dressed and ready. Area must be vacated two hours post ceremony start time.

Victorian Steampunk Wedding

Brace yourself, everyone — we have a real wedding that’s going to completely blow you away. This Victorian affair has every single detail nailed to perfection, right down to the reception tables sprinkled with images of Steampunk cult icons. Images are from the always amazing Braedon Flynn!

From the bride, Kate: Jacob and I are both artists. When we started sketching out ideas for the wedding, we new we wanted our guests to feel like they were in another world. That being said, we also needed the wedding to be everything that is truly “us.” After a few months of brainstorming with our designer, Tricia Fountaine, Jacob said “It’s like a steampunk Zeppelin crash-landed in a fairy forest.” It became clear that Steampunk was the perfect avenue to create an elegant, fantastical and imaginative wedding. Steampunk merges the idea of Victorian art and fashion with a science fiction flare. Ray-guns and cowboys, Steam Engines and Airships, Gibson Girl and Princess Leia.

It was important to us that our family felt like they were at a big reunion. Everything was casual, from the hay bales in the ceremony to the picnic benches in the reception. We even had blankets in baskets placed all over the ranch.

We decided on rich browns, deep reds, and other colours of autumn to accent the coppers and blacks. Copper is a huge part in steampunk design, and was also everywhere in our wedding. Tricia Fountaine and I did most of the work. We scoured junkyards, flea markets and strange stores to find everything. Some of my favourite memories from the wedding are all the small details we added to everything to really bring the look of the world together.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? You can always find your perfect dress. There are so many amazing resources out there, there’s no reason to ever settle for less than perfect. This goes for any vendor, really. Flexibility and creativity are key to keeping from a melt down. But if something really seems to be fighting you and you feel like you have to make too many compromises, look for another way! Find the path of least resistance and run with it. At the end of the day, as long as you marry the person you set out to marry, then your wedding was a success. Stay present. Take pictures of the PROCESS, not just the outcome.

Dos Pueblos Ranch Wedding

I am so excited to share a sneak peak of Ashley and Brad's wedding that took place yesterday at the Dos Pueblos Ranch. They are so cute together and their perfectly choreographed first dance was so sweet.

It's pretty incredible that Tim and Cheryl Halberg of Halberg Photographers have already posted these images!! You two are amazingly talented and so fun to work with. The stunning floral design was created by Camille of Modern Day Design and the cool blue modern lighting by Ambient Event Design. The effect was magical.

Dos Pueblos Ranch is quickly becoming one of my favorite new venues. There are so many possibilities with their private beach and rustic barn! So Pretty! It takes me to my happy place. Tricia Fountaine really knows how to create a gorgeous venue and we had so much fun pulling all of the details together for Ashley and Brad.

We can't wait for our other Dos Pueblos Ranch weddings this season.

San Ysidro Ranch- Kathy's 50th!!

I had the great honor of helping one of my favorite Santa Barbara families plan a fabulous 50th Birthday celebration at the San Ysidro Ranch last Saturday. Kathy, you look amazing, happy happy birthday!

Here's a sneak peak of the photos taken by my good friend, the ever so talented Kacie of Kacie Jean Photography. The photos are incredible and you really captured the joy of the evening. Tricia Fountaine, once again blew us away with the gorgeous floral design... the mantel... really? OMG! So beautiful! Shani and her team at the San Ysidro Ranch hit a home run. I had the pleasure of joining in the celebration and the food was so yummy! That salad and those cupcakes, wow! Trevor from Bella Vista Designs created an LED pink light show in the clear tent provided by Classic Party Rentals. Jon Francis from Anthony Ybarra Music set the mood while playing guitar in the wine cellar during the cocktail reception and Scott from Scott Topper Productions added to the fun in the Hydrageas Cottage and Terrace by deejaying and keeping the dance floor full all night. He also provided his Action Photo Booth which we set-up in the Adobe... complete with crazy props. Lastly, Heidi of Zenadia Design and Nicole of The Left Handed Calligrapher provided the pretty letterpress and calligraphy invitation, menus, signage and escort cards.

Thank you to everyone for helping to create such a special evening for Kathy, her friends and her family. I can't wait to do it again.

Real Wedding - Kerri and Josh

Come take a jaunt to the beach with us today! Kerri and Josh's Santa Barbara real wedding, photographed by BB Photography, is the perfect escape for a winter day - sun, sand, delicate decor and an incredibly happy couple. It's our Friday gift to you!

The Goals: Kerri and Josh wanted to share their love of Santa Barbara, California with their family and friends so they chose the beautiful Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore for their wedding venue. In the outdoor ceremony they combined their Christian and Jewish faiths, and felt that they were starting a new tradition at this favorite location that would last a lifetime.

The Design: Kerri and Josh chose a wedding color palette of white and cream with accents of lavender and natural greens. With the help of wedding planner Soigne Productions their decor had an easy, romantic and organic feel to it to compliment the natural beauty of the resort's beach location. I absolutely love their chuppah made from driftwood and the lush white florals from Mindy Rice!

The Look: Kerri wore a gown by Monique Lhuillier and accessories from Garland Collects, and looked like perfection! Her bridesmaids wore deep ocean blue dresses from Two Birds Bridesmaid with earrings by Linked Lust. For the tradition of Old, New Borrowed and Blue, Kerri wore vintage earrings (old), her beautiful wedding gown (new), her grandmother's handkerchief (borrowed) and cute bridal Hanky Panky undies (blue).

The Moments: Kerri's favorite moments of the day were walking down the aisle to see Josh waiting there for her, and saying their vows underneath the driftwood chuppah as hummingbirds fluttered around them. Wow! One of the biggest hits of the wedding was how much everyone loved the live music. "Our band was amazing and is still getting talked about - the dance floor was full the whole time and our ceremony and cocktail music was just as amazing! We hit a home run with the Supernova Quartet and Impulse!"

Summary

Although Santa Barbara county is a bit outside of our usual “stomping grounds,” this exquisitely romantic wedding at Clos Pepe in the Santa Rita mountains was such a wonderful example of a great winery wedding, we just had to share.

Winery Estates have so much to offer today’s bride and groom. A winery wedding has so much versatility, and most wedding-capable wineries offer a variety of different settings all in the same location.

You can choose to host your ceremony amid lush hilltop vineyards or immersed in an English style garden – all while being surrounded with amazing architectural elements. Iron gates, courtyards, and fountains all provide an enviable surrounding for an event. Consider the pictures! Think of it as your own private countryside villa. So elegant.

This wedding at Clos Pepe, photographed by Viera Photographics, is a perfect example of a winery wedding. The dramatic architecture and gorgeous background elements create an over the top design that is still simple and elegant.

Baby Nursery Design

It is my pleasure to share a few photos of our beautiful nursery. All photos were taken by our dear friend and talented photographer Jennifer Clasen.

We purchased the crib and changing table second hand and painted them so they tied together. We painted the walls a neutral pale pink and I found inspiration for the mural from a design show... My amazing husband and a few of our artistic friends helped to re-create it. I brought new life to an old chandelier by adding delicate pink crystals. The cherry blossom bedding was a style I found online from Migi. Our good friends gave us the glider as a shower gift. It too was purchased second hand and they painted it in matching white and had the cushions reupholstered in chocolate brown. Another good friend crocheted the gorgeous pink and brown blanket. I had the opportunity to meet Santa Barbara photographer Kacie Jean last week. She's incredibly talented and so sweet. Her photography work ranges from beautiful family portraits to gorgeous weddings and engagement shoots. Jodi and Chris planned their Santa Barbara destination wedding all the way from England. Jodi is originally from California and Chris is from South Africa. They met while traveling and their long distance relationship evolved over the years until they finally decided to tie the knot. They choose the La Cumbre Country Club as the location for their romantic destination wedding.

Santa Barbara Mission and Firestone Vineyard: Mayo + RJ

Mayo and RJ are the sweetest couple and I am so excited to share their wedding photos with you. Their beautiful ceremony and reception were held at the Old Mission Santa Barbara and the Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos.

This happened to be the same weekend as the La Brea Wild Fires and even though we were a safe distance away, ash snowed down on the Vineyard, so we moved the celebration indoors. Luckily, Firestone has a large barrel room that was able to accommodate us and the combination of the natural woods-like floral blended perfectly with the surrounding oak barrels.

Photographers Michael and Anna Costa captured the evening beautifully and Los Angeles Florist, The Velvet Garden created individual works of art on each of their guest tables.

Mayo carried a gorgeous bouquet in shades of whites and ivories with accents of green... The flowers included exquisite lady slipper orchids, parrot tulips, fragrant gardenias and stephanotis... RJ's boutonniere was designed to match and included succulent, stephanotis and a white rose petal backing.

Each of the bridemaids held bouquets created from a single floral element to include (from left to right) green hydrangeas, green cymbidium orchids and kermit mums... The groomsmen wore matching boutonnieres.

Pocketfold invitations were written in both Japanese and English and included a weekend schedule, map and response card... Matching escort cards were placed in the tasting room- their colors indicated guest meal selections... Instead of a traditional guest book, we used a flat barrel head carving from E Wood Art.

A simple white buttercream cake, provided by Decadence Wedding Cake, was decorated with green roses, hydrangeas and kermit mums... Guest tables, covered in Colchester Chocolate Linen from Classic Party Rentals, were adorned with zen inspired centerpieces that were three dimensional, "enchanted gardens" incorporating pieces of driftwood, vines, moss, flowers and fruit... Instead of table numbers, each table was named for a different varietal of wine... Guests received a box of homemade truffles from Jessica Foster Confec tions.

Guests enjoyed a delicious three course plated meal prepared by Duo Catering and Events... After dinner, they were invited to the Firestone Wine Club Lounge to dance to music provided by DJ Anthony Liebetrau of Red Shoe.

Crossroads Estate: Sarin + Karni

I loved helping Sarin and Karni plan their Santa Barbara Wine Country Wedding. The inspiration for their event began with a handful of brightly colored paper ribbon in the colors of rainbow sherbet and ended with an incredible event that had the bride in tears of joy when she first walked into the pole barn because the beauty of the room was beyond her wildest imagination. In her words... "It was like a Dream".

Their ceremony and reception were held at the Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos. Santa Barbara Photographers, Brian and Brady Charrette of BB Photography, did an unbelievable job capturing all of the details and emotions of the day and my all time favorite collaborator and design guru, Tricia Fountaine, made their vision come to life.

I am so excited to share the details of this event with you and even more thrilled that I have two more amazing friends in Sarin and Karni.

The bus transportation {Santa Barbara Airbus} was great and accommodated everyone, even beyond the call of duty I believe.

That is just the tip of the praise we and our families have been speaking of you and your team of exceptional Santa Barbara wedding vendors. The chatter surrounding the day has been going around for two weeks, which is very uncommon, and our families are exceptionally proud of the creativity and uniqueness, not to mention the perfection, that you delivered.

I am very excited to share the photos from Caitlin and Jared's fabulous wedding and reception at the Montecito Country Club. Together with an amazing team of professionals we gave them the Santa Barbara wedding of their dreams.

The talented Michael and Anna Costa captured all of the event's special moments and Tricia Fountaine did it again with beautiful, brightly colored flowers and decor. Perfect for a late spring/ early summer wedding.

White rose petals and ribbon lined the aisle...Flower pomador balls with yellow roses and fuchsia hydrangeas hung from the chairs...The bride carried a bouquet of white garden roses and bright yellow freesia...Two adorable flower girls carried moss covered baskets filled with coral petals...Bridesmaids, dressed in coral, tea length dresses, carried matching bouquets with yellow and white roses, tulips and stock.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the main longe for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres where they were welcomed by a custom sign made by Wedding Chicks... Two photo guest books were displayed- one of New York City Photography representing the groom and one of California Photography representing the bride... A console table held a collection of family photos... Caitlin looked gorgeous with her hair and makeup styled by Julie Morgan.

Guests were invited to the Santa Cruz and Anacapa rooms for dinner and dancing... Hand calligraphy escort cards held photos of the bride and groom at a corresponding age... A creative way to incorporate adorable childhood photos.

A custom wood stand held the most delicious cupcakes from Robyn Loves Cake... For a fun touch, we displayed silver cups filled with "C" and "J" lollypops as well as hershey kisses- each with a photo of the bride and groom kissing... Gorgeous centerpieces with hydrangeas, roses, queen annes lace, stock, tuplips and champagne grapes decorated each table... Specialty linen toppers from Classic Party Rentals in Allegra Sage and Sunset Crush were placed over the MCC house linen... Fruitwood chivari chairs from Fushion Event Rental were brought in to replace the MCC's banquet chairs.

After dinner, DJ Anthony Liebetrau of Red Shoe kept guests on the dance floor all night long... Irish Claddagh Dancers made a special surprise performance...But as an even bigger surprise, Caitlin removed the bottom half of her gown and she, her brother and her sister gave their own Claddagh performance.

Santa Ines Mission and Crossroads Estate: Kelly + Matt

Kelly and Matt are such a sweet couple and I am honored to have been there from the beginning. I first met them on the day they were engaged. I was still working for Firestone Vineyard at the time when I received a call from Matt saying that he'd like my help to plan a surprise wedding proposal at Crossroads. Under the pretext of an impromptu venue tour, just in case, he said... Matt scheduled a site visit of the property. He took her to the top of the hill overlooking the pole barn and oaks, got down on one knee and proposed. Kelly said yes! I was thrilled when they asked me to continue their journey with them to help plan their wedding the following spring.

For those of you that were checking the blog earlier today, you might have noticed that we were featuring a FABULOUS wedding that the forever talented Jose Villa shot. Then it disappeared! Well, being the brilliant photographer that he is, Jose wanted to put a few finishing touches on the images so we pulled them down to let him work his magic.
And here is the wedding in all its glory!

I think that it’s pretty clear…if you read SMP, you know that we go completely crazy over anything that Jose gets his hands on. Which is why, when one of our readers emailed us their recent wedding that Jose shot, we just about lost it. This wedding is so Jose, his style stamp gracing every image. It’s pure and utter gorgeousness.

The absolutely adorable bride and groom behind these delicious photographs were high school sweethearts. They met when she was 13 and he was 15. Swoon. The pair decided to have an intimate wedding of only 18 guests in Los Olivos, CA. And with so few guests, they were really able to design an AMAZING affair, working with only the best of the best in wedding vendors…

The bride is wearing a STUNNING Vera Wang gown. Hair and Make-Up was done by Mishel Wedding Party. The absolutely gorgeous flowers were done by Camille Panzarello of Modern Day Design, the calligraphy by Laura Hooper, and the invitations and letterpress by Sugarcube Press.

I heart Jose. Really, really heart Jose. His work is always so clean, so vivid. It tells the story of the day with a sense of timeless romance, with a hint of whimsy, a hint of pure gorgeousness. And this wedding is no different. Held at a local winery in Los Olivos, California…the wedding is all about an intimate gathering of close friends and family. Love that.

The AMAZING cake was designed by Decadence and for me, was total perfection. Especially considering that the backdrop is the incredible barrel room of a winery…a place where you can’t help but feel like you are celebrating something really, really special.
{update: Since we made you wait the entire day to see these pictures again, we’ve added a few more that haven’t been seen yet!}

Ahh. It’s just the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen! Thank you so much to the beautiful bride, Crystal, for sending us her lovely wedding. And, thanks to Jose for continuing to inspire us to design a wedding that is all about the pretty!

Greek Orthodox Church and Four Seasons Biltmore: Kelly + Bill

Kelly and Bill planned their Santa Barbara destination wedding from their home in New York City. Since they have very busy schedules, we consolidated all of the planning sessions into a couple of short weekends. The rest of the details were planned over phone and email.

Their ceremony and reception were held at the Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church and the Four Seasons Biltmore. This was my first time working with two talented Santa Barbara event professionals- Megan Sorel Photography, who shoots 100% film and Laura Sangas, owner of Cody Floral Design. Both did an amazing job in creating a dream wedding for Kelly & Bill.

Firestone Vineyard: Justin + Alberto

I was thrilled when Justin and Alberto called to ask me to help plan their wedding. They are so much fun and I was intrigued by their idea of booking The Minikiss Band for their reception... Well, we didn't end up booking Minikiss, but we did plan a fabulous event and their guests had the best time. Along with a team of their talented friends, we planned a beautiful event at the Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos.

This was my first time working with an amazing photographer, Amy Tierney of f8f11 Images. She's a commercial and fashion photographer, who also covers modern weddings in full detail, and a good friend of the groom and groom. Their other friends, Jarrod and Tally, set designers from Hollywood, created the gorgeous floral and lighting decor.

I'm so excited to share the unique details of Justin and Alberto's Wine Country Wedding.

Firestone Vineyard has a new ceremony site called the vineyard mesa... The mesa has gorgeous vineyard and mountain views as well as a beautiful old oak similar to the famous ceremony oak at their Crossroads venue... Their graphic wedding cake was created by Decadence Wedding Cakes... I absolutely love the matching top hats... Justin and Alberto enjoy a good celebration and the hanging animal masks symbolize their love of costumes.

They had first met on the red carpet during a Los Angeles event and that same red carpet was used to mark the entrance to their ceremony... One of my favorite parts of the day was hearing the vows Alberto wrote for Justin... He combined 80s song lyrics to express how he feels about his groom and it could not have been more perfect.

Guests were invited into the barrel room for dinner where they enjoyed Santa Maria Style BBQ catered by Plemmons Catering... The 150 person guest table extended the entire length of the room... It was stunning... Following dinner, guests were invited to the courtyard to dance, but first, Justin surprised Alberto with a painting of their ceremony oak.

The celebration got a little "wild"! The dance floor was full all night long... Another friend, DJ Diva Danielle White, provided the tunes.

The happy couple made their grand exit in a 1940 Touring Packard Sedan provided by Classic Motoring Car Rentals.

Crossroads Estate: Analise + Roger

Analise and Roger are an extraordinary couple and I had the pleasure to help plan their wedding. Analise’s family is from Mississippi and her parents also spent several years living in Italy. Roger and his family are from Norway. The vision for their wedding day included descriptive words like sunset, fireflies, romantic, modern, Mississippi, Italy, Norway and Scandinavian. Their inspiration pieces included photos of: a vibrant sunset-inspired bouquet, a textured beach table-scape and tons of candles. Given their eclectic design preferences, I knew to call on one of my favorite collaborators, Tricia Fountaine of Tricia Fountaine Floral Design. Together, we were able to capture their vision perfectly and we came up with a design for their wedding that encompassed all of their backgrounds. All photographs were taken by the extremely talented Elizabeth Messina. Elizabeth did an amazing job of capturing all of the details and emotions of their wedding day... and every photo is magazine worthy.

I had so much fun working with Analise and Roger and am excited to share the details of their beautiful wedding day with you.

Their ceremony was held under "two oaks" and Tricia hung colored ribbon and flowers from the branches... A special wedding tradition using aquavit took place during the ceremony.

Vintage inspired letter press invitations, designed by the bride's brother... The bride looked gorgeous in a classic gown designed by Monique Lhuillier... The groom and groomsmen wore handsome suits by Banana Republic... The bridesmaids looked stylish in dresses by BCBG... The flower girls looked sweet wearing dresses by Briar Patch.

Vintage Santa Barbara Post Card escort cards hung from a twine clothesline strung between two of the barn's poles, led guests to their seats... Table numbers were written in English and Norwegian... Rincon Catering strung Lights and Paper Lanterns from the pole barn to the nearest oak to connect the outside area to the inside... Descanso Benches from Classic Party Rentals and fire pits from Tricia gave guests a place to relax.

The wedding party sat at a long table in the center of the room... Colored ribbon and flowers, like those used on the ceremony oak, hung from the rafters... Guest tables were layered with white cotton linen, natural muslin, silk organza and burlap to emulate the textured beach table scape from the inspiration photo... Bamboo folding chairs provided a more relaxed look... Inspired by an Italian Market, some of the tables were adorned with wooden crates filled with fruit and surrounded by fresh flowers in clean glass vases... Abundant sunset inspired centerpieces with just a touch of blue adorned the other tables.

Decadence Wedding Cakes provided a gorgeous hand painted "gluten free" wedding cake and the groom's mother made several Norwegian Wedding Cakes and cookies... Guests couldn't get enough... We created an additional seating area ,with a brass table, rug and comfy pillows, on the stage.

Guests held sparklers during the cake cutting to share in a romantic toast with the bride and groom...Mississippi inspired moss and twinkle lights (to mimic fireflies) hung from the rafters... The effect was magical.

Private Estate: Anne + Rudy

Anne and Rudy wanted a 1950s themed wedding and a family friend's beach house on Padaro Lane was the perfect setting. I had an amazing time working with this wonderful family to plan the wedding of their dreams.

This was my first time working with photographer Miguel Fairbanks and he did a beautiful job documenting the day. The family and I collaborated with Nico Designs to pull together some of the decor elements and the rest were items purchased by Anne's mother Margaret.

Anne held a bouquet of gardenias, phalenopsis, blushing brides, cattalaya orchids, garden roses and gardenia foliage... Rudy wore socks to match Anne's fabulous emerald shoes... Nigel, their adorable Pug, was just one of the guests of honor.

The ceremony was held on a private dock overlooking the Pacific... Upon their arrival, all of the ladies received orchid wrist corsages and all of the gents received cigars.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the patio for a special champagne toast given by the bride and groom... The patio was later turned into a dance floor with Music By Bonnie.

Round and square cocktail tables draped in white satin and rhinestone encrusted organza overlays were adorned with cabernet lamps and milk glass containers with white cattalaya, casa blanca lilies, phalenopsis, cymbidium orchids, dendrobium orchids and gardenias... Guests were encouraged to freely roam the event space including the patio, beach and dock... For dinner, Savoir Faire set up delicious food stations, serving small bites, so guests could easily enjoy dinner without needing a knife.

Cakes were purchased from Jeannine's Bakery in Montecito... Although Jeannine's does not offer traditional wedding cake, their famous signature cakes are the best in Santa Barbara... For a personal touch, the couple collected cute cake toppers and stands for each.

Crystal chandeliers hung by Bella Vista Designs, tiki torches, paper luminaries, glass lanterns and pillar candles provided lighting... A fire pit, mushroom heaters and cozy blankets kept everyone warm... The happy couple made their grand exit amongst a trail of sparkler clad guests.

Lisa and Peter are a cool & stylish couple and I really enjoyed helping them plan their beautiful modern wedding and reception at the Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos.

This was my first time working with Los Angeles photographer, Nicole Goddard, and she was amazing!! Photography was one of the most important details for Lisa & Peter and Nicole delivered. The flowers were designed by one of my good friends, the incredibly creative, Nico of Nico Designs. Lisa's bouquet was one of my favorites of the season. I loved the contrast between the soft white roses and sleek plum calla lillies and orchids.

Their ceremony and reception took place at one of my favorite properties, the Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos.

Tate Tullier, an incredibly talanted photographer, captured the magic of the day and Camille from Modern Day Designs created the most spectacular pink, purple and green floral arrangments.

Fess Parker's Doubletree: Emily + Matt

Emily and Matt are a lovely couple and local Santa Barbarians. Their ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful, oceanside, Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort.

Nico Designs created stunning yellow, white, green and pink floral arrangements. All photos were taken by their photographer, the talented Melissa Musgrove, and she captured every special moment.

The bride's bouquet held a bouquet of gardenias, phalenopsis orchids, cattalaya orchids, garden roses, dusty miller, ranuculous and lambs ear.

A Large wooden tray held flower cones filled with petals for guests to toss... Moss hedges with yellow rose buds marked the beginning of the aisle and small yellow rose bushes marked the end... Boxes filled with hydrangea and roses lined the aisle... Two large arrangements with curly willow, honeysuckle, garden roses, sweet peas, phalenopsis and hydrangea bordered the alter.

Dark wooden trays filled with snapdragons held the escort cards. The miniature cows and fish signify guest meal choices...Tables were named after streets in Santa Barbara....Nico provided wicker lounge pieces decorated with pillows tied in yellow ribbon...The four tier buttercream wedding cake was made by Montecito Confections.

Half the tables held clusters of hurricane candles surrounded by a wreath of hydrangea, garden roses and cymbidium orchids... The other half held tall cylinder vases topped with globe shaped arrangements... Bella Vista Designs hung string lights and twinkle lights and AMS Entertainment provided entertainment.

Firestone Vineyard: Danielle + Nick

Danielle and Nick are a very cool, rock n- roll couple and I had the pleasure of working with them to plan their wedding at the Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos. Danielle Brisebois is a producer and song writer for artists such as Natasha Bedingfield, Kelly Clarkson and Donna Summer. Nick Lashley is a guitar player and producer originally from the UK who has toured, recorded and written songs with artists such as Natasha Bedingfield, Alanis Morrisette and Lisa Marie Presley.

All of the beautiful photographs were taken by my good friend and photographer Kristen Beinke and the amazing Tricia Fountaine designed the traditional, English-country decor.

I am excited to share the details of Danielle and Nick's wedding day with you.

Their ceremony was held on the vineyard terrace which has one of the most stunning views in the valley. Tricia decorated the Firestone arch with grape vines, clusters of grapes, branch roses and chiffon fabric.

This was my first time working with Lazaro Design... Tracy is an extremely creative wedding invitation designer and she designed a custom monogram for Danielle and Nick that we used throughout their event... Their escort cards were placed on the tasting room bar on wooden trays with a bed of ivory rose petals and Kermit mums... As a surprise for Nick, Danielle named the tables after guitars... The cocktail reception was held in the winery's barrel room and Bella Vista Designs placed several spot lights on the lower and upper decks to highlight the barrels.

Dinner and Dancing took place in the courtyard... Tricia created unique arrangements for each of the guest tables... She used all different silver containers, tea sets, trays and glass jars... No two tablescapes were the same and each was a work of art... Apple green satin linen and fruitwood chivari chairs added classic elegance... Alternating round and square tables finished the look.

Bella Vista Designs draped fabric and paper lanterns over the event space... Decadence Wedding Cakes created the four tier cake with vanilla butter cream frosting and delicate sugar flowers.

Natasha Bedingfield gave a very special performance of "Put Your Arms Around Me" for the bride and groom... Rincon Catering, one of my favorite catering companies, provided rentals, lighting design, lounges and of course the delicious food.

Santa Barbara Zoo: Rebecca + Ben

Rebecca and Ben are close friends of both my husband and I so we were thrilled when they invited us to join their wedding party. Rebecca knew she wanted to wear a purple wedding gown so we decided to put tradition aside and just have fun coming up with creative ways to incorporate their wedding colors and theme. This was not going to be your average "white wedding". Instead it was an evening filled with jewel tones, laughter and lots and lots of butterflies.

They choose the Santa Barbara Zoo for their ceremony and reception and since the hilltop was under construction, the reception was held in elephant junction. Tricia Fountaine Floral Design and Bella Vista Designs helped us transform the space. This was my first experience working with Yvette Roman Photography and I was blown away! She has an amazing way of capturing the soul of her subjects and I just loved working with her. All photos were taken by Yvette:)

Check out Billy's Blog Billy Girl Style for the latest make-up tips... Billy also played dual roles as groomsman and hair & make-up artist... Rebecca looked stunning in a custom purple gown designed by R-Mine Bridal Couture and a birdcage veil.

The sweetest lavender bouquets for the bridesmaids... I hung mine to dry and it still smells amazing... Three unique pin corsages for the grandmas... And a gorgeous bouquet in shades of red and purple, wrapped in a silk sari for the bride.

Their ceremony was held in the the Palm Garden... A popular ceremony spot for zoo weddings... We made cute petal cones and sweet bundles of lavender from the Farmer's Market to line the aisle... The zoo's antique train took the newly wed bride and groom for a private tour.

Escort Cards hung on purple ribbon and each table was named for a different butterfly... This was a "DIY" wedding project... We found butterfly clip art online and created our own template... Something sweet from Whodidly Cupcakes... The fabulous bridal party, with bridesmaids in dresses from Melissa Sweet.

Tricia designed the most beautiful centerpieces with rhinestone encrusted butterflies tucked into each arrangements.

A photo of the amazing Yvette Roman and I, LOL... It was so great to work with you!.. and boxes of Animal Crackers, a zoolicious favor, given at the end of the evening.

St. Mark's Church and Crossroads Estate: Andrew and Ivana Firestone

I am honored to have been a part of the amazing team that helped Andrew & Ivana create a fairytale wedding on July 5, 2008. The ceremony was held at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the reception following at the family's Crossroads Estate. Together with my close friend and former colleague, Jill Remy, we collaborated one last time to plan a flawless event. Thank you Andrew & Ivana for giving us the opportunity and thank you for being so amazing to work with.

The very talented Michelle & Josh of Mi Belle Wedding Photography and Russel Fowler of Stellar Films Wedding Cinematography captured every moment beautifully.

The groom wore a suit by Tom James... The bride looked gorgeous in a Reem Acra gown and she wore stunning Christian Louboutin heels... Ivana's bouquet was classic, clean and elegant with gardenias, renuculas, tiny garden roses, tulips and lily of the valley... Andrew wore a boutinniere to match.

The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Laundry By Shelli Segal... Their hair was styled by the hair and make-up artists of Santa Barbara’s Salon U... They carried lush bouqeuts of white hydrangeas and tulips.

Two white and green alter pieces were placed to the right and left of the steps and two white floral wreaths with Tiffany blue ribbon hung on each side of the entry doors... Emily Larson designed invitations and stationary which incorporated the Tiffany blue, white and chocolate brown wedding colors perfectly.

Twiggy, the bride and groom’s English bulldog was of course a junior bridesmaid and Snoopy, their beagle was a junior groomsman... They look adorable! Especially Twiggy in her tutu... The escort cards were presented by the junior bridesmaids, who held custom trays filled with crushed glass wrapped in the Tiffany blue fabric, as guests entered the pole barn... Multiple lounge areas, provided by Bella Vista Designs, surrounded the dance floor.

Mindy Rice Floral Design and Bella Vista Designs transformed the Pole Barn into an elegant ballroom filled with pin-spotted hydrangeas and complete with an entire perimeter of silk chiffon draping, custom tie backs, runner and floral chandeliers... The guest tables were decorated with alternating tall and short glass vases filled with an abundance of white hydrangeas spheres... Vanilla cream satin linen and fruitwood chivari chairs provided by Discount Party Rentals completed the look.

The wedding cake was made by Decadence - a 3 tier wedding cake with alternating layers of vanilla sponge with lemon Bavarian cream and chocolate butter with chocolate mousse (flavors selected by the groom’s youngest nephew at their cake tasting)... Mindy made a custom table skirt which held a pedestal of white hydrangeas... Possibly, my favorite decor element of the entire day!.. Pure Joy Catering provided the menu of light summer hors d’oeuvres- assorted cocktail tarts, bruschetta, seared ahi, and smoked salmon & caviar. For dinner-tossed green salad, halibut and New York bisteca Florentina... A late night snack of miniature hamburgers were served before guests departed.

The LA All Stars band rocked the "meadow" and kept everyone on the dance floor all night... They even wrote a special song for the happy couple, “Hold My Heart”... The dance floor was placed outside under the stars with a 100 year old oak tree, decorated with chandeliers, as the back drop... The same grape motif used on the invitations were reflected onto the dance floor... Andrew & Ivana made their exit in a light blue 1941 Studebaker from Classic Motoring Car Rentals while their guests once again serenaded them with "Livin on a Prayer" By Bon Jovi. The theme song of the night.

Crossroads Estate: Davida + Chris

I love, love, loved working with Davida and Chris. They really enjoyed planning all of the little details and we spent hours discussing the design for their wedding day. This was one of my very first Soigné Productions Events and I was so proud about how everything turned out.

I really enjoyed planning Jessica and Jaime’s wedding. It was originally planned for November, but a certain little surprise caused us to move their wedding to July instead. We had to act fast to pull together all of the details of their gorgeous event. Luckily, the venue and their top pick in vendors were all available and we were able to pull it off beautifully.

They held their ceremony and reception at Santa Ines Mission and the Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos. Michael and Anna Costa Photography did an amazing job capturing every special moment and Mindy Rice designed the stunning pink, orange and green floral decor.

Crossroads Estate: Tonya + Mike

It's the off-season and I will not begin my wedding season until mid April this year, so I thought it would be fun to share the details of my own wedding. It took place at one of my all-time favorite venues, The Crossroads Estate at Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos, on Saturday July 29, 2006.

All of the photographs were taken by the awesomely fabulous, Brian & Brady Charette of BB Photography and of course, the flowers and decor were designed by the one and only Tricia Fountaine.

Guests arrived from Santa Barbara on shuttle busses provided by Santa Barbara Airbus... They were greeted by parasols, pre-ceremony beverages of pink lemonade and spa water, a polaroid guest book from Adesso Albums.com, and an engagement photo with an over-sized mat for guests to sign... My bouquet included garden roses, tea roses and white calla lilies... I wore a raw silk wedding gown designed by Waters and Waters purchased at Anna Maria Bridal Boutique in Santa Barbara.

The ceremony took place under the 100 year old oak, slightly off-center so the backdrop was a view of the vineyards... My bridesmaids carried colorful bouquets of roses and plum calla lilies... Sierra, our flower girl wore a head wreath of tea roses and wax flowers and carried a basket filled with pink rose petals... My husband Mike wore a boutonnière to match my bouquet.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, provided by Rincon Catering, under the two oaks... Tricia assembled several comfy lounge and seating areas made up of sofas, papazon chairs, benches, rugs, pillows and ottomans... Our wedding cake was a gift from The Solvang Bakery and included 3 tiers decorated with hand colored fondant to match our wedding colors... Flavors included strawberry shortcake and chocolate mousse... My bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Vera Wang.

We alternated round and square tables for guest seating and named each table after a different comic book (Mike, my husband is a huge fan!)... Our head table was in the center of the pole barn and seated our entire wedding party and their dates... Tricia hung roses and candles over the center with fishing wire, so it appeared as if the lights and flowers were floating... The effect was magical... Apple green satin linen, chocolate brown satin napkins and flowers in various shades of pink, green and orange, to include roses, tulips, calla lilies, stock etc. decorated the room...We also splurged for chivari chairs with brown cushions from Classic Party Rentals...The round tables had low centerpieces with votives and pillar candles and the square tables had "faux" cherry blossom branches (created by Tricia- she had wired pink wax flowers to the branches since they were not in season)... The branches were also used on the buffet, candy bar, stage & escort card table.

Our favors included an old fashioned candy bar where guests could help themselves to some of their favorite treats (all candy in different shades of pink, red & chocolate)... We had bought clear bags designed with our monogram.

Additional lighting to include up-lighting on chocolate brown fabric panels, a gobo (light projector w/ our monogram) on the dance area along with a pink color wash & assorted sized Japanese paper lanterns in the oak closest to the pole barn... All provided as a weddig gift from Trevor of Bella Vista Designs... Our caterer Rincon also lit the buffet, the bar and the cake table... We did not use the existing string lights in the pole barn, but we did use the chandeliers... Music was provided by Patrick Butler of Santa Barbara DJs... Fire Pits and benches were in place so guests could roast S'mores after dinner... Our wedding cake was set-up in the meadow under Tricia's wooden arbor w/ fabric and candles provided by our florist and when it was time to cut the cake, the guests lit sparklers and Mike gave a toast.
